ISLAMABAD, June 12 (APP):Senior Leader of Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan, Muhammad Farooq Sattar, on Wednesday proposed taxing large agricultural landowners to provide relief to the general public.
Refraining from commenting on the budget, he mentione
d that he had presented a shadow budgetary document for review to make it more people-friendly.
Farooq further propose
d that the government should use the income from privatized organizations to reduce the external debt burden on the national exchequer. He urged the government to establish a scientific mechanism for debt management.
He also recommende
d that the government should privatize loss-making organizations, emphasizing that business operations should fall under private entities’ jurisdiction rather than the government.

d that the government should further enhance Karachi’s infrastructure, highlighting its importance as a business hub. He note
d that investing Rs100 billion in the metropolitan city could boost the country’s annual growth rate by one percent.
He also called for a reduction in electricity, oil, and gas price
s to improve the purchasing power of the common people. Additionally, he proposed providing small loans to help them become economically self-sufficient.
Furthermore, Farooq advocated for the launch of the Benazir Income Generation Programme, stating it would financially empower the poor.
